California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One: New Rule Change, Effective July 1, 2015

Starting on July 1, 2015, California Court of Appeal, Fourth Appellate District, Division One, will require mandatory e-filing of all original proceedings other than writs subject to California Rules of Court, rules 8.450 through 8.456. The e-filing should be made through the Court’s electronic filing system (EFS) found at http://www.courts.ca.gov/4dca-efile.htm, and it will constitute the official record of the filing. Additionally, no paper copies are required. The file should be a single, text-searchable PDF which is no more than 25 MB in size.

Furthermore, each file must be consecutively paginated with Arabic numerals, starting with the cover. A separate pagination system for the Tables of Contents and Authorities is not permitted. Filers are also encouraged, but not required, to include electronic bookmarks for the Table of Contents and to the first page of any exhibits with a description of the exhibit included in the bookmark.
