Scott Thompson is the Chief Executive Officer, President, and a Board Member of Counsel Press Inc., where he leads the company’s strategic growth and innovation. Since taking the helm in 2016, he has overseen substantial transformation, including the expansion into digital services, the formation of national partnerships, and the completion of several transformative acquisitions. These include Case Anywhere, Lantagne Legal Printing, Becker Gallagher Legal Publishing, Cockle Legal Briefs, and The Lex Group, significantly strengthening its position in the legal services sector.
Prior to being recruited to lead Counsel Press, Thompson founded Network Technology Group (NTG) in 1989 to provide technology solutions for law firms. NTG later evolved into Venyu, a company specializing in data center colocation, data protection, and disaster recovery services from its owned and operated data centers. As Founder and CEO, he scaled Venyu from a regional provider into a nationally recognized technology leader. The company played a critical role in business continuity and technology recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted, resilient partner. In 2013, Venyu was acquired by EATEL, a regional telecommunications provider, where Thompson served as President.
Throughout his career, Thompson has led multiple successful exits and consistently created substantial enterprise value through both organic growth and targeted acquisition strategies. He has worked closely with private equity sponsors across investment cycles, helping to scale portfolio companies, lead roll-up and platform strategies, and drive disciplined operational execution that results in long-term value creation.
In addition to his role at Counsel Press, he serves on the Board of Directors of B+T Group, a national wireless engineering and infrastructure services firm. He is known for his commitment to innovation, client service, and building high-performing, mission-driven teams. Thompson brings a leadership style grounded in clarity, collaboration, and execution, with a focus on delivering sustainable growth.
