State and Federal Courts

For our New York State clients, we offer CalendarWatch™, a case monitoring service for the New York Appellate Divisions – First and Second Departments. Counsel Press will notify clients when their appeal is scheduled for oral argument (such notices are not provided by the courts.)

New York Appellate Division

Practitioners filing an appeal in the New York Appellate Division, First Department and/or in the Appellate Term, First Department should be aware of these Courts’ term calendars and how the term calendar system impacts their appeal. In any given calendar year, the Appellate Division, First Department and Appellate Term, First Department have 10 terms for argument and submission, and there are specific deadlines by which documents must be filed in order to take part in a given term.
