Counsel Press Assists New York City Against the Defense of Marriage Act

Today Counsel Press assisted New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine C. Quinn with the filing of an amicus brief in the Supreme Court of the United States against the Defense of Marriage Act.

This is an appellate case pending in the United States Supreme Court following a decision in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, affirming the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York's decision in Windsor v. United States, which found Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional.
